Liverpool Star Urges Reds To Show Pre-Season Results Against West Ham

Liverpool have now spent big in a bid to challenge Manchester City domestically this term, bringing in four new arrivals for around £170m.

Liverpool will be hoping to get their new Premier League campaign off to a flying start, when they take on West Ham United at Anfield on Sunday afternoon. "We try to help him all the time in training, he is a great boy, but I do not talk to him every day about how he can score more than last season". "I think this club needs to have this ambition to win titles, to play for titles, and to be one of the best teams in the world", the 26-year-old continued.

"We do not have to play much better in the games against City - if we perform like we did previous year, that would already be good".

The former Basel, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan winger is upbeat about how things will go at Liverpool this season, who launch their Premier League campaign at Anfield today against West Ham.

Dejan Lovren has revealed Liverpool are not happy with him after he played through an injury at the World Cup.

"I think, and I hope, we are going to kick-on on Sunday with the first win and try to give the fans what they deserve - titles". That's it. We lost them in other games. We know that. We have to be more clinical in the right moments, we have to be more aggressive in the right moments.

"We want to - that's clear for ages - be the champion of England or winning the league".

"We can improve everything: we can improve our offensive game, we can improve our defensive game". The champions are Manchester City. I want this season's title race to be more spicy and I think it will be.

And with a series of key summer acquisitions, the Reds are seen as the most likely side to dethrone Manchester City.

"We have a talented team who can play to win titles".

Trent Alexander-Arnold returned sooner than expected from his extended holiday after the 2018 FIFA World Cup and should start ahead of Nathaniel Clyne at right-back.

"I also stated after Coutinho's sale that the extraordinary fee presented an opportunity - for one summer at least - to outspend the rest of the Premier League".
