Thing is, the company that created it, Epic Games, just announced that it won't be publishing it via Google Play, the market where most users - in the Western hemisphere, anyway - get most of their apps.

Epic confirmed to GameSpot that Android users will not be able to download Fortnite on their devices from Google's digital store, but rather through its own service.

With the game not available on Google Play, it's highly recommended that you don't simply install any APKs from unknown sources. Fortnite will be available eventually, you just have to be patient.

All Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Galaxy Tab S4 users will get an exclusive Fortnite Galaxy skin that can help them stand apart in the game. The web Play Store does not have this feature, though.

If anyone at Google is reading this, it's spelt 'Royale, ' not 'Royal'.

While this move will make Epic Games more money than otherwise, it will also set up a risky precedent for Google. You'll get the customized search results even if you misspell the game's name, so Google must be getting a ton of Fortnite searches. The game will appear in the Samsung Game Launcher and in the Galaxy Apps store. The latter bit was a direct appeal to gamers and Epic Games' partnership with Samsung will not go down with Google. Epic will also offer downloads of the game on its website in the coming days for most Android smartphones. This is mostly in an effort to avoid the 30% cut of revenue Google takes for every Google Play transaction. Most developers just deal with that because having your title in the Play Store makes it easier to reach a large audience.
