According to Variety, Schwartz has signed on to voice Sonic the Hedgehog in the upcoming film of the same name.

Previously announced cast members include WestWorld and Hop's James Marsden along with Tika Sumpter who has featured in the likes of Gossip Girl and Law & Order.

Schwartz is certainly an in-demand voice actor now, and perhaps not coincidentally, this facet of his career really took off after the actor lent his voice to Star Wars: The Force Awakens.

What do you think about this casting choice for the voice of Sonic? When asked that very question, Carrey merely said, "Magic!"

Marsden will play a small-town cop from South Dakota who ends up going on a road trip to San Francisco with Sonic the Hedgehog as they race against the evil Dr. Robotnik (Carrey) to recover Sonic's rings. Deadpool director Tim Miller is the executive producer for the film, while Jeff Fowler will direct. The film is slated to arrive November 19, 2019.
