HuffPost also premiered a trailer for Fahrenheit 11/9, which drops on September 21.

This is actually Moore's second Trump-related documentary over the past two years.

The release of the trailer was accompanied by an interview with Moore by The Huffington Post where the filmmaker made sure to attack the president. The scene in which an incensed Moore sprays water from Flint onto the home of MI governor Rick Snyder stands out in particular, made all the more meaningful as Moore himself is a Flint native.

In a Q&A with the HuffPost, Moore described Trump as an "evil genius" who has "no intention of leaving the White House" without a fight. He hopes this film will "end the madness" that people seem content to let continue.

It's the latest offering from Moore aimed directly at the effect of Trump following on from his filmed one-man talk Michael Moore in TrumpLand and his Broadway show The Terms of My Surrender.

Speaking to RTÉ Entertainment in 2016 on the eve of the release of his last film Where to Invade Next Moore advised Irish people to ridicule Trump on a planned but subsequently cancelled visit to Ireland.

"Fahrenheit 11/9" will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month, the festival announced Thursday.

"American journalism schools have not trained students how to cover an authoritarian leader", Moore warned. They're getting steamrolled by a tyrant because Trump understands media and understands the country he lives in more than those that cover him do.

Asked if the film provides a "glimmer of hope", Moore shot back, "Fuck hope".

"Fahrenheit 11/9"'s release comes just ahead of the USA mid-term elections, with Moore looking to spread anti-Trump messaging and insight into his politics.

In the trailer, Moore calls Trump "the last president of the United States".
