Arsenal misfit Perez set for West Ham move

It has been a really busy summer in east London and the 29-year-old Perez becomes West Ham's eighth new signing, as manager Manuel Pellegrini overhauls his squad.

Sanchez, who has over 80 caps for his country, spent a year ago on loan at Espanyol.

It would have been a surprise to see Lucas Perez remain at the club this season and today, we have confirmation that he will not.

"I'm very happy to be here at such an historic club", Perez told West Ham's official website.

West Ham have confirmed the signing of Colombia global midfielder Carlos Sanchez from Fiorentina.

The left-footed forward spent last season on loan at his former club Deportivo La Coruna and scored eight goals in 35 LaLiga appearances, but said he was looking forward to helping West Ham improve on their 2017-18 Premier League finish of 13th.

With the Baggies unable to offer Premier League football like West Ham, they would have to convince him to turn down a move to London.

West Ham already boast Javier Hernandez and Andy Carroll up front, while Toni Martinez has impressed in pre-season and Marko Arnautovic can play up front.

But Press Association Sport understands a transfer across London to join the Hammers is edging closer as Thursday's transfer deadline approaches, with Perez wanting another chance to make his mark in England.

"He is a very experienced player that Manuel and I both know well from Spain", said Husillos.

Lucas is happy at Arsenal but he wants to play regularly and West Ham is an option for him.
