Red Dead Redemption 2 receives first gameplay footage

The video also reveals that you, the player, get to choose how good or bad the main character is based on your decisions.

Rockstar Games will release an official gameplay video of Red Dead Redemption 2 on Thursday, AUgust 9 at 8:00 a.m. PT / 11:00 a.m. ET / 4:00 p.m. UK, the publisher announced. The game casts players as Arthur Morgan, an outlaw and high-ranking member of the Van der Linde gang.

Though previously Rockstar Games has shown off cinematic trailers, this is the first time any gameplay has been shared.

There's no indication when the next gameplay trailer will be released but the game itself is out on 26 October, so there's still plenty of time.

Your interactions with the world aren't limited to dealing with the people in it. Hunting plays a large role in Red Dead Redemption 2, as it can help support your camp and earn you money. America is seeing the last of its wild western days, and local enforcements are making every effort to push the remaining gangs to extinction.

Red Dead Redemption 2 will drop on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems this October 26. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.

Red Dead Redemption 2 takes place prior to the events of its predecessor and follows Arthur Morgan, an outlaw running with the Van der Linde gang ran by Dutch Van der Linde.

Taking all of this into account, there's no doubt that fans of Rockstar Games are looking forward to the first official gameplay video for Red Dead Redemption 2, especially since the open world title's release is just a few short months away from now.
