Kevin Anderson gave classy interview after winning 6-hour Wimbledon semifinal

Novak Djokovic led world number one Rafael Nadal after three sets of their Wimbledon semi-final when play was suspended until Saturday.

The tournament referee informs Nadal the match is over.

It is absolutely evident that Djokovic has an edge over his Spanish rival on grass courts over various time-frames, and with the nearly five-hour quarter-final for Nadal factored in as well, the available [2.00] looks worth recommending to me. But Rafa has won the last two in straight sets.

Only seven of the previous 51 meetings between Nadal and Djokovic had been won by the player who lost the opening set, so it was a major boost to the Serb's hopes when he took the opener.

To say it was a close match would be drastically underselling what took place between the two players, whose history against one another dates back to their college days when Isner played at Georgia and Anderson played at IL. Then he might stand half a chance of a first Grand Slam title on Sunday. He has reached a career-high in the rankings and on Wednesday he defeated Canadian Milos Raonic in the Wimbledon quarterfinals, advancing the furthest he ever has in a Grand Slam tournament. He then battled past Ruben Bemelmans 6-1 6-4 6-7 6-7 7-5 in an ill-tempered affair.

The two didn't begin their semifinal until after 8 p.m., as they had to wait out the conclusion of the 6-hour, 36-minute, five-set marathon between John Isner and Kevin Anderson.

Their clash, however, may not be easy on the eye.

"He's someone that pushes me, I think". Isner and Anderson, both giants capable of enormous serves, just kept blasting the ball past each other, trading service and sides of the court as the rules dictated, but rarely ever competing in a compelling rally. Anderson had 49 aces in the victory.
