Jordan Henderson hopes his record-breaking England run can continue

England midfielder Jordan Henderson has admitted that he should be at full fitness ahead of their World Cup semi final against Croatia on Wednesday, claiming that he will have to overcome a slight hamstring injury.

Those are the words of former Liverpool and England team-mate Steven Gerrard, who says that a major success may help Henderson to have his talents more widely recognised.

Henderson's Liverpool they lost the League Cup and Europa League finals in 2016 and almost won the Premier League in 2013-14 having also lost an FA Cup final since their last triumph - the League Cup six years ago. To play in a World Cup is so special.

The 28-year-old has been one of manager Gareth Southgate's key players throughout the tournament this summer, with Henderson seeming to offer just as much off the pitch as he does on it.

"I had a tiny hamstring issue from the last game but it was fine to play".

From his penalty save against Colombia to denying Mandzukic with a superb save tonight, Pickford has starred, and Everton will be delighted with his performances - as long as no other teams come calling for his signature.

The England regular spoke highly of fellow midfielders Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic along with Liverpool team-mate Dejan Lovren.

Henderson has started all but one of England's games - the 1-0 defeat to Belgium when Southgate made eight changes to his starting XI in the final Group G match.

After that, he will have three weeks' break before returning to Merseyside for pre-season training with Liverpool - whose season gets underway against West Ham at Anfield on August 12.
