Should England reach the final, tennis fans will be even more torn-the World Cup final is scheduled for the middle of the Wimbledon men's singles final.

Those who stuck around seemed to be more interested in following the action in Russian Federation on their electronic devices than watching the tennis match taking place in front of them.

Tennis fans around the World will have to contend with a huge sporting headache as the 2018 World Cup final will be primed to begin midway into the Wimbledon Final.

Wimbledon officials are refusing to show any games from the World Cup on the All England Club's big screen, Reuters report, despite clashes between the championship's matches and England's games in Russian Federation.

England could play the final as they have reached the semi-finals.

Speaking to a group of reporters Monday morning, Richard Lewis, the club's chief executive, indicated that the prohibition would not be strictly enforced given interest in the World Cup - provided the use of the devices didn't interfere with others.

There were several people keeping up with action on their phones, with one woman kitted out in England attire watching on a bench while waiting for Martina Navratilova to play her women's invitational doubles match on Court Three.

'It is not unheard of for there to be a ripple of applause or a shout when something special happens in a football tournament, ' he said.

"Saturday was one of the most special days I can remember at the championships".

Fans on the grounds of the All-England Club watch the World Cup quarterfinal between England and Sweden on their cellphones.

"You can tell when England scored and it was wonderful but we didn´t receive any complaints that the enjoyment of tennis had been spoiled".

We had superb tennis going on and we were benefiting from modern technology where people were able to follow the football, enjoy it, without disturbing other people.

'What will happen next Sunday is Centre Court will be packed for the men's singles final and I'm sure people will be able to follow the World Cup final, ' Lewis told Independent.

Still, spectators will have to utilize their own resources to watch the match, as the club also declined to show the game on the big screen just outside of one of the stadiums.

"The (football) players are going to look up in the crowd and not understand what's going on at Wimbledon".
