Prince Louis' Godparents Compared To Princess Charlotte & Prince George's: The Major Differences

The Archbishop of Canterbury, who presided over the service today said today on Twitter: "I'm delighted and privileged to be christening Prince Louis today - a precious child made in God's image, just as we all are". Welby recently officiated at the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, on May 19.

From a distance, the Duchess of Cambridge appeared to have just told her stylist "same old" when asked what she would like to wear to the christening of her third child, Prince Louis, at St James's Palace in London on Monday.

Prince Louis was born on April 23, 2018, and on July 9, he was christened for the world to see.

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will not be on hand for the event.

Kensington Palace released further details about the christening today, including who will be attending and Prince Louis' godparents.

Louis will have three godfathers as well; Nicholas van Cutsem, Guy Pelly and Harry Aubrey-Fletcher, all longtime friends of William.

The last member of the family to wear the lace number was Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex's daughter, Lady Louise Windsor, at her 2004 christening.

The gown is a replica of the one made for Queen Victoria's first daughter, also named Victoria, in 1841. Prince George and 3-year-old Princess Charlotte as well as Kate's parents Michael and Carole, her brother, James and sister Pippa were also in attendance. Buckingham Palace said this decision was taken by the Queen, William and Kate "some time ago" and is not due to health reasons.

Queen Victoria married Prince Albert on the very steps of the palace in 1840, while Queen Elizabeth I is also known to have resided at the palace on several occasions.

Kate, dressed in an ivory dress and matching hat, and William were joined by William's father Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, along with younger brother Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, dressed in olive green.
