Apple Prepping Blue, Orange iPhones

The iPhones we see later this year may come in a variety of colors in one of the biggest departures from Apple's normal color range we've ever seen.

The new base model iPhone, expected to have a 6.1-inch LCD screen, will be coming in blue, orange, and red, in addition to the usual gray and white.

Although we've seen red versions of iPhone products in the past, Apple has never launched on day one with a red edition and instead we've seen it come along much later in the release cycle. If true, it would be the first expansion of color options since the iPhone 5C launched in 2013.

According to Kuo, the new colour options for the 2018 iPhones include black, white, and gold colour options for a 6.5-inch OLED iPhone. However, given the popularity of smartphones with red color among consumers, the company might offer the LCD iPhone with a slightly different shade of red right at launch.

Although the photos are unconfirmed, they have been hailed as proof that Apple will finally be giving the world an easy way to take advantage of the "fast charging" mode in the iPhone 8, 8 Plus and flagship X.

LG Display might be ramping up its OLED production, just for Apple to use these screens in its upcoming iPhone lineup, which is said to include two models that will be running the aforementioned display tech. All the new iPhones will sport a design similar to the current iPhone X, though the LCD variant (and likely the 5.8-inch variant) is expected to lack dual-camera system.
