Stargazers watching the strawberry moon rise may also want to look for Saturn, to the south of the full moon.

It also appears larger than usual just at it begins to rise.

Hot on the heels of the summer solstice, June's full Strawberry Moon - appearing at the beginning of the sunniest and warmest months of the year - is slightly unusual this month.

The exact peak of the strawberry moon will be at 12:53 EST on Friday, according to Bustle, but the moon should appear similar in fullness to the human eye at any time of the night.

A plane flies in front of a full moon. If you have a clear view, you'll be able to see Saturn glowing brightly as Earth's orbit brings us directly between Saturn and the sun on Wednesday. It will sit fairly low in the southern sky and the planet Saturn will be just below it to the left. When it's in its full phase, the moon is incredibly bright and nearly impossible to look at for more than a few seconds. This means it is the best time of the year to view Saturn in the sky, as it makes a close approach with the Moon and comes the closest to Earth it will all year. Moonrise will happen at 8:24 p.m.

This is the second of three oppositions in as many months, coming after the Jupiter opposition in May and preceding the Mars opposition in July.

"Cloud-free conditions will lead to uninterrupted views of Saturn for much of the western and central United States on Wednesday night", the website reports.
