Donald Trump explains Melania’s ‘I really don’t care’ jacket

The green hooded spring military jacket has the words written graffiti-style on the back.

As many noted, Donald Trump's tweet appeared to immediately contradict Melania Trump's office and cast her visit more as a stunt to make a statement against the media than a genuine trip to show interest in the children affected by Trump's policy. This jacket certainly seems like quite a misstep on her part, potentially feeding into Melania Trump's critics' claims. "After today's important visit to Texas, I hope the media isn't going to choose to focus on her wardrobe", Grisham said.

During her visit to the Upbringing New Hope Children's Shelter, Melania said 'I'm looking forward to meeting the children'.

The first lady's spokeswoman, Stephanie Grisham, reportedly responded saying, "It's a jacket".

Her visit comes amid growing outrage in the United States over a policy that separates migrant children who illegally enter the US with their parents.

She later posted a message on Twitter, urging the media to focus on issues of substance.

Grisham is referencing the backlash that exploded when the first lady was mocked for wearing sky-high stilettos as she headed to Texas after Hurricane Harvey in August. "Do U?" while en route to visit immigrant children held in detention centers in Texas.

And even Dictionary.com chose to publish a pointed tweet defining the word "indifference" and explaining its definition matched what it saw as the First Lady's message.

That practice has resulted in the separations of thousands of children and families.

"Her goals are to thank law enforcement and social services providers for their hard work, lend support and hear more on how the administration can build upon the already existing efforts to reunite children with their families", she said.

Did NOBODY think to tell her that wearing this was a awful idea?? Many Mexican families have been highlighted in the news recently after being ripped away from their children due to Donald Trump's border policies. She did not wear the jacket to the event.

It was an odd choice for Trump - she isn't often seen wearing a $39 anything, and she rarely wears outfits not carefully thought out.

The youthful jacket sharply contrasts with the first lady's typically bold, foreign-flavored and higher-priced wardrobe.
