George Lucas on His Star Wars Sequels That Never Were

While fans aren't at all happy with what Disney did with Star Wars: The Last Jedi, at least the House of the Mouse may have saved them from George Lucas's original ideas for Star Wars Episodes VII, VIII and IX. This is something that Lucas has admitted himself.

Where Lucas' story would have gone has thus far been kept pretty much under wraps.

The two-time best director Oscar nominee confided his vision to none other than James Cameron, who interviewed Lucas for "Space", the second episode of his recent six-part AMC series "James Cameron's Story of Science Fiction".

An excerpt from the companion book has now gone viral thanks to a tweet from illustrator Livio Ramondelli, who shared two quotes from Lucas that don't seem to feature in the show.

More recently we've learned that he's enlisted the help of veteran Star Wars artists Doug Chiang and Andrew L. Jones, both of whom worked with Favreau on The Jungle Book.

He tweeted: 'If you don't like Star Wars or the characters understand that there are decisions makers and harassing the actors/ actresses will do nothing. Given how people have reacted to changes regarding the Force in the new movies, as well as the midi-chlorians in the prequels, Lucas' assumptions were probably correct.
