On top of those two highly-anticipated titles, they also announced a Doom sequel, a new Elder Scrolls game Wolfenstein spinoff, plus a tease of a new franchise called Starfield.

It will eventually come to consoles, but it'll launch on mobile devices first, which signals it's not almost as deep or complicated as a traditional Elder Scrolls game is. "You'll be who you want - exploring a huge world, doing quests, experiencing a story and leveling up - we love those things about our games, too", Howard said. However, just the concept of "Elder Scrolls, but science fiction" has me sold on the experience already. And after seven long years, we are finally able to hear about the next part which is Elder Scroll VI. We speculate that the beta will go live sometime this summer. Fallout 76 can be enjoyed solo, but according to Bethesda's director Todd Howard this game will be played "entirely online". There are a range of different combat styles to select and three modes of play on offer, each tailored for the hardware in question. There's even a portrait mode to cater for players on smartphone.

The presentation also showed off some more scripted gameplay, featuring the new powers for the player character, the iconic wingstick from the first game, and other cool weapons. It's not for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, or Windows PC.

While this is the first wholly original IP from Bethesda in 25 years, it's probably safe to assume gameplay will be similar to previous offerings.

Instead of a controller, you'll take on your enemies using your device's touchscreen.
