Wilder, Joshua agree to fight deal

If he prefers the fight in the United Kingdom, the ball is in their court. The fact that both men are the height of National Basketball Association stars and have devastating knockout power will make the bout, should it happen, a must see for fans - even casual fans.

Wilder owns the WBC strap, while Joshua holds the IBF, WBA Super and WBO titles. We made this offer about four weeks ago and I don't know if he's come back because he's heard we're close to closing the Povetkin fight or whether he wants the fight, but either way he's going to be getting a contract from us ASAP.

Both fighters fought in March, with Wilder defeating Luis Ortiz in a thrilling, come-from-behind fight where he was almost finished, while Joshua scored a lackluster win on the scorecards over Joseph Parker.

"We see this as a Wembley fight and we're quite limited in that respect", said Hearn.

"Deontay has accepted his terms to fight in the UK".

He tweeted: "The $50m offer for him to fight me next in the United States is still available". It's up to them to choose U.S. or UK.

Starsport understands it is considerably more than the £9.3m that Hearn originally offered Wilder back in early April.

Another possible outlet is the Perform Group's DAZN sports streaming service, which is due to launch in the USA later this summer, with Hearn's recently agreed to eight-year, $1 billion deal to provide boxing content due to begin in September. With that bout on the cusp of being announced, Wilder's sudden willingness to put pen to paper has drawn scepticism from the Joshua's camp, who will now test his intentions with a contract.

A fight between Joshua and Wilder would see all major heavyweight world titles on the line.

Hearn recently claimed that a deal to fight mandatory WBA challenger Povetkin was "virtually done" but there's no telling how much of that was a clever ploy to force Wilder's hand and if that's what the Matchroom boss intended, he's absolutely nailed it.

He said on Instagram: 'Dear Anthony Joshua fans, since your acting dumb, delusional or just plain Stupid here you go, breaking news.

As Wilder said, the ball is in the court of team Joshua now.
