The new demo showed Spider-Man thwarting a prison escape.

A brand new Spider-Man PS4 trailer has been released, with the web-slinger being showcased during the Sony E3 2018 event and hinting at the inclusion of the Sinister Six. It's clear to see that Ghost of Tsushima is really nailing a distinct and cinematic aesthetic, instantly evoking romanticised imagery from classic samurai movies. It means that you can end up where Sony are right now, with no new first party games to announce, and yet with a gallery of games that they aren't prepared to pin release dates on, Spider-Man excepting.

That doesn't mean that these games don't look excellent, though. Not yet. That's a detail we're hoping to find out more on soon, because imagine the possibilities!

The show begins at 6 p.m. PT. Besides being a big fan of the aesthetic, the game has the pedigree of being developed by Sucker Punch Productions. That being said, they still look very intriguing. The battle against Masako was an excellent twist, changing nearly to a side-scrolling fighting game like Soulcalibur for a few moments, while the world around them continued to evolve. There's even a cliffhanger ending as Spider-Man catches a glimpse of the mastermind.

Based on the footage that was shown, we feel that the game's combat is going to be paced similar to what we've seen in games like God of War, but the boss battle nearly resembled more of a fighting game.

We also get an intense webswinging chase sequence with Electro that takes place on the outside of the Raft, with the friendly neighbourhood Spider-Guy narrowly dodging some intense electric blasts.
