Four days before his death, celebrity chef Anthony Bourdain was tucking into sauerkraut and roasted ham in the eastern French town of Colmar, just miles from the village of Kaysersberg where his life ended.

"We are asking you to be better, to look deeper, to read and learn about mental illness, suicide and depression before you make it worse for survivors by judging that which we do not understand, that which can never fully be understood", she says.

"Anthony I am so mad at you", McGowan wrote. "I've heard from many that the past two years they were together were some of his happiest and that should give us all solace".

CNN confirmed the news of Bourdain's death, saying the TV host was found unresponsive Friday morning by friend and chef Eric Ripert. The couple separated in mid-2016 and officially divorced in 2017. Her mom, the late celebrity chef's ex-wife Ottavia Busia, was there to capture the handsome moment, which was likely an emotional experience for Anthony's only child.

Argento posted her own message on Instagram on Friday. They laughed, they loved and he was her rock during the hardships of this previous year. "I am beyond devastated".
