E3 Trailer: ‘Super Smash Bros. Ultimate’ for Nintendo Switch

We got our first look at Switch's entry in a long-running Nintendo series: Super Mario Party.

Ultimate will feature every single character which has previously appeared in a series for one massive roster.

Move sets, "final smash" attacks, and mechanical tweaks were described at length, with the most notable mechanical tweak being the ability to charge certain attacks in mid-air.

GameCube controllers will be compatible by using a GameCube adaptor. One of the games shown off Super Mario Party. It'll have an eight-player multiplayer mode. Nintendo says that the show will focus on Switch releases for 2018, but we might see some 2019 titles and 3DS games as well. Expect even more character reveals before the game lands on December 7th.

Nintendo announced a slew of other games for the Switch: Daemon x Machina, Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Overcooked 2, and Killer Queen Black. Joining Fortnite in this immediate-launch party is the hugely popular indie metroidvania game Hollow Knight. Nintendo, as usual, had a pre-recorded video instead of a live event at E3 2018.

The show began with a segment of new game Daemon X Machina, an explosive mech battle game, from Marvelous Entertainment.
