Dost to leave Sporting CP on a free

Dost, Carvalho as well as Gelson Martins and Bruno Fernandes have become the latest players to seek termination of their deals at the club, following Rui Patricio's decision to cut his time at the club short earlier this month .

A number of Sporting's players were attacked by a mob at the club's training ground after a string of poor results and as such, plenty of them are set to quit the club, which should be allowed as part of their contracts.

Ex-Liverpool centre-back Sebastian Coates and his partner Jeremy Mathieu came in for the strongest criticism, with De Carvalho claiming "it was [as] if we had nine players".

The 23-years-old is now preparing for the 2018 World Cup with Portugal national squad.

Carvalho especially could be a very wanted man.

The Dutch striker could be in line for a move to the Premier League this summer with Everton and Newcastle both showing interest in him.

He's worked with new Toffees boss Marco Silva before and they could be reunited at Goodison Park.

Following the exit of Rui Patricio, as well as head coach Jorge Jesus, the foursome of Dost, Carvalho, Martins and Fernandes chose to go public on Monday, and filed notice with the Portuguese Securities Market Commission that they meant to terminate their contracts, invoking "just cause" after being attacked in their workplace.

Benfica's president has also threatened to sign the players which will cause huge annoyance with Sporting fans, although maybe they shouldn't have attacked the players then. He covers all sport from football, formula one, cricket, rugby, tennis, athletics, mma and wrestling.
