Bound flight from Rome diverted due to ‘potential security concern’

A United Airlines aircraft which diverted to Shannon airport yesterday due to a potential security concern, is due to proceed with its journey to Chicago this afternoon.

A transatlantic flight has been diverted to Shannon Airport in Ireland, after what is understood to be a bomb threat was found inside the plane.

Following extensive searches by ground staff, Gardaí and emergency services staff, it was confirmed that no suspicious device had been located on board the aircraft.

Passengers were put up in in local hotels overnight.

"The aircraft is now scheduled to depart Shannon today (12th June) at 3pm (local time)". "Additional security screenings will be performed on all customers and baggage".


"He just does not get injuries, it's impossible to break him."
