Search for exotic eats brought Anthony Bourdain to the wilds of Maine

Rose McGowan is opening up about the death of Anthony Bourdain.

"Many of you, like many of us, are feeling a whole range of emotions: shock, sadness, confusion that a man who was seemingly having the ride of his life in the middle of his life has now suddenly reached the end of his life", he began his "Anderson Cooper 360" show.

Anthony Bourdain, CNN host and celebrity chef, was remembered by his friends and colleagues as a "friend to us all" following his reported suicide.

Bourdain was in Paris working on an upcoming episode of his award-winning CNN series when his friend Eric Ripert, a French chef, found him unresponsive in his hotel room.

"Anthony gave all of himself in everything that he did", she wrote. As his girlfriend Asia Argento said in a statement released on Twitter, "His brilliant, fearless spirit touched and inspired so many". I am beyond devastated. They laughed, they loved and he was her rock during the hardships of this past year. My thoughts are with his family. "I would ask that you respect their privacy and mine", she continued. He was a great storyteller as he collaborated food and travel to tel stories from around the world. His talents never ceased to amaze us and we will miss him very much. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his daughter and family at this incredibly hard time", CNN said in a statement.

Yesterday, Kate's brother-in-law, David Spade, had a comedy show in Southern California where he took the stage and commemorated the death of his relative.

Bourdain's "Parts Unknown" seemed like an odd choice for CNN when it started in 2013 - part travelogue, part history lesson, part love letter to exotic foods. Mr. Bourdain knew the chef, Monsieur Nasti; he knew the kitchen.

CNN is now airing the 11th season of "Parts Unknown", and Bourdain was in France shooting an episode for the 12th season.

"The new celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon". Bourdain explained to People, "We both work a lot and we're both away from home a lot so we're both circus freaks in the same circus-or different circuses I guess".
