Robert De Niro says 'F

"De Niro represents exactly what's going on in this country", he said. "Who's gonna argue with him?" he said.

De Niro's declaration was met with a standing ovation from theater-loving attendees, and Stewart wondered what it would have been like if the same comment was made about Obama.

"It's no longer down with Trump, it's f**k Trump".

De Niro, a staunch opponent of Donald Trump, dropped a couple of F-bombs on Monday night in New York City before raising his arms and encouraging the crowd to vote in the upcoming midterm elections.

The actor then got on with his introduction, praising Springsteen for the singer's political activism.

The CBS television network, which was broadcasting the event live but with a delay of a few seconds, scrambled to bleep out De Niro's expletive.

De Niro is in Toronto for a groundbreaking ceremony for the Nobu restaurant and hotel, a project that the Oscar-winning actor is invested in.

Robert also said: "In these perilous times, you rock the vote, always fighting for truth, transparency and integrity in government". "The offensive language was deleted from the broadcast".

The gathered crowd seemed to agree with his message with applause, whoops and a standing ovation coming from the audience.

"It's F*** Trump!" De Niro added. "Boy, do we need that now!"

There may not be any angels in America, but according to De Niro there's at least one devil. "It's "The Emperor's New Clothes" - the guy is a f***ing fool ... our baby-in-chief - the "J******-in-chief" I call him".

De Niro has been very outspoken about his dislike of Trump, famously referring to him as a "fucking idiot" and the "baby-in-chief" while introducing Meryl Streep at the National Board of Review Gala in January.
