Kate Middleton showcases affordable summer style during day out with children

Middleton, Prince George and Princess Charlotte accompanied Prince William to the Maserati Royal Charity Polo Trophy at the Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire on Sunday where the Duke was competing in a tournament.

Kate Middleton proved she's quite the super-mum as she chased after children Princess Charlotte and Prince George in wedges as they enjoyed a family day out. The 3-year-old sported a pink patterned dress with oversized sunglasses and navy sneakers as she supported her father and practiced her gymnastics skills.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and their cousin Savannah Phillips stole the show at this year's Trooping the Colour.

The rest of her time was spent like any other young mum on a day out with the kids - untangling the Slinky, re-tying shoe laces and comforting Prince George when all the excitement became a bit much and he got a little teary.

The playful photos did spark some backlash on social media, however, as some people thought George's toy gun was an innappropriate choice.

While George seemed elated throughout, he was constantly talking, disturbing the elder cousin, who was seen telling him to stop, while the little one smiled sheepishly at the chiding.

The moment has been captured, with people going gaga over this royal Tow Sawyer-like child, also giving a ideal throwback to the time Prince Harry shared a similar moment with Princess Beatrice.

Prince William and Kate Middleton's third child, Prince Louis, was noticeably absent from Saturday's event and Sunday's outing.
