We are still waiting for Google to reveal their new Pixel 3 XL device for 2018 and while Google has been doing a great job of keeping most of the details away from the public, they still can't stop every leak.

As for the other feature, the Pixel 3 XL was earlier suspected of featuring wireless charging support after it was leaked that it had a full glass back. The company recently released Beta 2 version (Developer Preview 3) of new Android P Beta for the Pixel smartphones featuring several tweaks and bug fixes. Interestingly, Google seems to have used a notched display in a design that is largely similar to the Pixel 2 XL from previous year. In a similar fashion, Google seems to be once again planning on following Apple's footsteps by adopting a notch display design for its upcoming Pixel 3 series.

Without doubt, the thing most will point to here is that notch, something that has been a polarizing point ever since the iPhone X launched late past year and has continued to divide people even as just about every Android phone maker has followed suit. Even before the second-gen Pixel 2 phone's official launch, it was sighted on FCC with Android 8.0.1 Oreo and Active Edge. This doesn't confirm these features are coming to the Google Pixel 3 phones, but it certainly makes their inclusion more likely.

Active Edge debuted on the Pixel 2 smartphones and lets you bring up Google Assistant if you squeeze the sides. In one of the photos featured in the piece, we find a table of Pixel 2 prototypes with some sensitive logomarks censored, presumably to keep prototype securities hidden.

The SystemUIGoogle.APK file discovered by folks at XDA Developers shows the components for Active Edge - codenamed "Elmyra", in four phones.

There is no guarantee that Active Edge returns on the Pixel 3 smartphones, however.
