RJD To Meet Governor To Form Govt In Bihar

Similarly, former Bihar deputy CM and leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal Tejashwi Yadav has said he will meet with Governor Satya Pal Malik and stake claim to form government in the state, now ruled by a Janata Dal (United) and Bharatiya Janata Party alliance.

In a tweet the former Bihar deputy CM said, "I will meet honourable governor of Bihar along with the MLAs as we are the single-largest party in the state".

Yadav said the party has also requested the Bihar Governor to dissolve the state government. The Goa Congress despite being the single largest party was unable to form the government in the state.

"In 2017, we won 17 seats & were single largest party & continue to be but Governor chose to invite the BJP which had 13 seats". The Congress party on Thursday announced that it will stake claim to form the government in the state. Addressing a press conference, he said, "We are not only single largest party but single largest block of pre-poll alliance in Bihar".

After Karnataka Governor Vajubhai Vala invited BJP legislative party leader BS Yeddyurappa to form the government in the state, a move which was slammed by the Congress, as they alleged that the JD (S)-Congress alliance had majority with 116 MLAs in the 222 member House.

In Goa, Congress Legislature Party chief Chandrakant Kavlekar said the party will stake claim tomorrow by submitting to Governor Mridula Sinha a formal letter containing signatures of all the 16 party MLAs. We were the single largest party in Bihar, but we were not given a chance like BJP's BS Yeddyurappa who is given a chance to form the government in Karnataka. Following the results, one of the MLAs, Vishwajit Rane, resigned from the Congress Party and the Assembly just before the floor test and joined the BJP. "So, we appeal to Governor to invite us to form govt", Yatish Naik, Congress, told ANI.

Later in the day, opposition parties in two more states stake claim to form the government. He said that he would be holding 1-day fast against the "murder of democracy in Karnataka". Then why should we not be called to form government in Bihar?

Launching another attack at Karnataka Vajubhai Vala, Congress leader Randeep Surjewala today said, "Vajubhai vala had sacrificed his seat for Narendra Modi earlier, yesterday he sacrificed Constitution and democracy for him".

The RJD fought the elections in alliance with Janata Dal (United) or JD (U) and the Congress, emerging as the single largest party.

Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S) leaders also staged a protest against Yeddyurappa's swearing-in as the Karnataka chief minister, terming it unconstitutional.

Former Manipur Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh and former Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma have also sought appointments with the governors of their states on Friday.
