Pregnant Slope-crash survivor's unborn baby dies

Two months after her daughter was killed in a vehicle crash, Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles suffered another tragedy. During the accident, Miles was 7 months pregnant, was also hit by the auto.

"This past Friday Ruthie and Jonathan lost their baby, Sophia Rosemary Wong Blumenstein", said a statement issued to the media by Ben Rabinowitz, an attorney representing the Blumenstein family.

Ruthie's friend Lauren Lew and her one-year-old son Joshua were also involved in the accident; Joshua was killed in the crash.

She got severely injured in the accident, her unborn child has died because of injuries sustained in the accident, according to a lawyer for Ms. Blumenstein.

The alleged driver, Dorothy Bruns of Concord, was indicted by a Brooklyn Grand Jury on charges that included manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide, reckless endangerment, assault, reckless driving and disobeying traffic signals.

The Hawaii born actress lost her unborn child.

"The pain suffered by Ruthie and [her husband] Jonathan is almost impossible to fathom", read the statement from Rubinowitz, a personal-injury attorney representing the family. Both were seriously injured when they were struck by another vehicle. Evidence cited by Brooklyn District Attorney Eric Gonzalez earlier this month showed that Bruns suffered two other seizures immediately after the crash. "She should never have been allowed to be driving a auto after what we know".

Broadway star Ruthie Ann Miles is facing another tragedy.

"They are overwhelmed by the sadness of the deaths of their children", added Rubinowitz.

Miles was in her 39th week of pregnancy, the Journal reported.
