OnePlus 6 Seen Passing Bend, Burn, and Scratch Tests Following Its Debut

The JerryRigEverything YouTube Channel has put the OnePlus 6 through its series of durability tests.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei has revealed the company's new flagship smartphone to the world - OnePlus 6. These come in the form of scratch, burn, and bend tests. The glass starts showing damage at level 6, with deeper marks appearing at level 7, which is pretty much what was expected. This is something similar to the OnePlus 5T that also resisted scratches until the Moh level six of hardness.

Design and displayAt 6.28in, the Full Optic AMOLED screen on the OnePlus 6 is the largest on any OnePlus phone yet, and with its 2280x1080 resolution and pixel density of 402ppi, it's also the highest-resolution (just).

This means that despite it's bigger screen size, it offers the same overall footprint as the OnePlus 5 and 5T. The frame of the phone along with the buttons are made out of metal.

The product also has a vertical double chamber, which is placed in the center of the rear panel. Out back, the fingerprint sensor and camera don't scratch at all from the razor. Similar is the case of the glass protection available on top of the dual rear camera setup. The screen withstood an open flame for about 20 seconds, after which the pixels exposed to it permanently died. "I have a very similar brief for the OnePlus 2 wallpapers and comparing people with the newest OnePlus 6 wallpapers, it is like traveling back in time, they're so similar", he wrote. Despite a rather surprising amount of flex, there were zero cracks or kinks. "I believe this is in part due to the plastic lining between the glass and the metal frame but either way this new OnePlus flagship passes my durability test and is definitely daily driver material", the YouTuber said in the video.
