Stating that Karnataka assembly election result underlines the importance of regional parties, Minister for Public Works Ramakrishna "Sudin" Dhavalikar on Wednesday said that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) fight state assembly elections together, they will win absolute majority with 25 seats. "(TDP supremo and AP chief minister) Chandrababu Naidu said that Telugu people will not vote for us in Karnataka, but that did not happen. Voting for two seats is yet to take place. "But the dreams have to be fulfilled", the MGP President said. "What I have been saying has been proved during the results of last few assembly elections in Goa", he said.

Mr Shah was said to have adopted similar poll strategy in recently held Assembly elections in Gujarat and Karnataka. Forget winning 35 seats, the party may even fail to get to double figures if they fail to make amends and respect the coalition partners. We have to wait for some more time to see who forms the government in Karnataka.
