Lovato hinted at the collaboration back in February when she told Billdboard, "I did a collaboration with one of my biggest idols".

Christina Aguilera recently returned with the Kanye West-produced "Accelerate", and while it was fun to hear her experiment with a clubby banger, her famous powerhouse vocals didn't get a ton of room to breathe. "I'll just say that".

Christina Aguilera has finally made her comeback to music. But then he would kind of remind me of myself. I think I did choose to, no pun intended, take a chair for so long and do something very commercial for my little ones.

Though Aguilera doesn't explicitly defend his controversial points of view, she doesn't necessarily condemn them either.

Taking to Twitter, Christina praised Demi by saying: "I believe our paths were destined to cross & I'm so proud to come together from the pasts we've overcome; to the strong women we are today!"

See more on Aguilera in the video below. "No, it never had anything to do with any one person at all". Lovato added, "She speaks up for what she believes in and sends a positive message, which are two things I find extremely important when given the platform we are lucky enough to have".

And for Lovato, the chance to collaborate was a long time coming. "But just know that I was a fighter behind the scenes".
