Stardew Valley PS Vita release date confirmed

Stardew Valley PS Vita release date confirmed

That comes out to March 31, 2019. In fact it seems that Sony is taking steps towards that as the company has confirmed that they are ending the physical production of PS Vita games.

According to a message sent to developers that was obtained by Kotaku, Sony's American and European branches "plan to end all Vita GameCard production by close of fiscal year 2018".

In the message to developers that was obtained by Kotaku, Sony also asked for all PS Vita product code requests to be submitted by June 28 this year and for all final purchase orders to be entered by February 15 next year. However, the portable console will continue to receive content and will remain active in this area, so there is still some time left for it to be discontinued.

Game developer ConcernedApe and publisher Chucklefish have officially announced that Stardew Valley will launch on PlayStation Vita this month. What do you think about the decision of Sony? Of course, not many brand new PS Vita games are being produced these days, but this will also mean that older games won't get any refreshed inventory at retailers.

Anyone who has played Stardew Valley on the Nintendo Switch can attest to how perfectly suited the game is to a portable gaming platform. It's unsurprising that Sony is bringing an end to the console's life cycle, and many will likely question why it's taken them so long considering its lack of support. Sony's immensely powerful handheld showed huge promise when it came to mobile games with depth, yet its use of expensive proprietary memory cards made it a pricy investment.
