Russia, Iran to continue cooperation on nuclear deal - Foreign Ministry

South Korean President Moon Jae-in recently met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un to discuss a formal peace agreement to end the Korean War.

More than €143 million worth of Irish exports to Iran are under threat from USA president Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the global nuclear deal and to reimpose sanctions on the Islamic state.

Merkel said in a speech to a labor union congress in Berlin that President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the 2015 agreement marked "a shift in German-American, in European-American relations".

France's foreign minister had said on Friday he had asked for exemptions or longer grace periods for the exit of French companies such as oil-and-gas giant Total SA and auto maker Peugeot SA that have returned to the Iranian market since the 2015 nuclear accord.

The European Union's chief diplomat said on Tuesday that the bloc was determined to preserve the Iran nuclear deal.

Foreign firms engaging in trade in Iran have also been threatened with punishment, with all manner of companies including Renault, Siemens and Total among those tied up in billions of dollars worth of deals.

Israel said it had attacked almost all of Iran's military infrastructure in Syria yesterday after Iranian forces allegedly fired rockets at Israeli-held territory for the first time. As a private citizen, Bolton suggested in the past that the United States push for a change in Iran's government.

He said that he spoke to US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin to request exceptions for French companies, a delay in implementing sanctions, and a so-called grandfather clause for companies that invested in Iran while the treaty was in place.

"Iran had never made a strategic decision to give up nuclear weapons".

In the CNN interview, Bolton did not respond directly when asked whether Trump might seek "regime change" in Iran, or whether the U.S. military would be ordered to make a preemptive strike against any Iranian nuclear facility. So far, France, Germany and the United Kingdom have all said they want to stay in the Iran deal.

Bolton said Europe was still digesting Trump's move last week.

Mr Zarif failed to win any concrete assurances to help tackle the USA threat of economic sanctions during talks in Beijing on Sunday, and was due in Russian Federation on Monday.
