Rapper TI Arrested After Altercation, Claims He Was 'Wrongfully Arrested'

T.I.'s lawyer is saying the rapper was wrongfully arrested when he tried to enter his gated community outside Atlanta early Wednesday.

According to police, the guard at Eagles's Landing Country Club called police on T.I. and a friend.

Henry County Police deputy Mike Ireland said TI was arrested around 4.30am after he got into an argument with a security guard.

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, called the arrest "small potatoes" in comparison to what he's been through in the past.

T.I.is one of the biggest names in hip-hop, with multiple platinum-selling albums and singles, production credits and roles in films like "ATL" and "American Gangster".

The Blast just spoke with Tip minutes after he was released from custody in Georgia, and he says the entire argument was with a security guard outside of his gated community while returning from the studio and started because the dude was allegedly asleep in the guard shack. He claims he did not assault the guard but that the guard "may have been hurt by my words".

Police told the outlet that he was arrested at the gated community where he lives after an altercation with a security guard. Tip clearly identified himself and sought entry.

T.I. also described local law enforcement as "white cops in a very white area", though he noted that the guard was black.

Both Holmes and T.I. were ultimately arrested. Tips was in contact with "Tiny" by phone and "Tiny" confirmed that Tip should be let in immediately. The guard continued to refuse entry without justification.

Ireland said T.I. and a friend were arrested. Attorney Sadow says the officers had no interest in "hearing Tip's side of the story and wrongfully chose to end the situation by arresting Tip".

Wednesday after he bailed out, T.I. was able to spend some time with his family and celebrate his son Major's 10th birthday.
