Nigeria Announce Provisional World Cup Squad

The 25-year old was involved in the goal against Zambia that sealed Nigeria's qualification for the World Cup, and barring any unforseen circumstance, should make the final 23-man squad to Russian Federation.

Bursaspor of Turkey defender, Shehu Abdullahi, is honoured to make Nigeria's provisional squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, Completesportsnigeria.com (CSN) reports.

It included Goalkeepers - Francis Uzoho, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Daniel Akpeyi and Dele Ajiboye.

The defence has Turkey-based Kenneth Omeruo, William Troost-Ekong and Shehu Abdullahi while Cercle Brugge's 30-year-old Elderson Echiejile, Leon Balogun, Ola Aina, Tyronne Ebuehi, and Nantes centre-back Chidozie Awaziem also made the cut.

Chelsea wingback Moses was Nigeria's top scorer in the qualifying campaign with three goals, while Captain Mikel Obi, Iwobi, Simon and Iheanacho weighed in with two goals each.

Legendary Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai would not go with the popular call for Francis Uzoho to be the anointed first choice goalkeeper at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
