ICSE, ISC results: Pune girl second ISC topper in country

The results for ICSE, class 10th and ISC, class 12th were declared yesterday by Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) on its official website on Monday.

This year, the top score of 99.5 per cent in Class XII was bagged by seven students from across the country - two from Mumbai, three from Lucknow, and one each from Kolkata and Lakhimpur Kheri in UP.

The examination for Class 10 (ICSE) was conducted from February 26 till March 28 while the Class 12 (ISC) examination was conducted from February 7 till April 2.

Girls recorded 99.87% pass percentage, which is slightly higher than the boys' pass percentage of 99.69 percent in the ICSE examinations.In the ISC examinations, girls recorded 99.76% pass percentage, which is higher than boys' pass percentage of 98.59.Even the southern region has recorded the best performance by bagging 99.69 and 98.38 pass percentages in ICSE and ISC, respectively.In the ISC, the southern region recorded the highest passing percentage of 98.38 %. From a total of 977 students with learning disabilities who appeared for the exam, 94 candidates have scored above 90 per cent.

In Assam Valley School in Sonitpur district, 141 students had appeared for ICSE and 106 for ISC.

Swayam, a student of St. Mary's school, Koparkhairane, was more than delighted when he got to know he is the all-India topper. "I am contemplating to challenge it and hope that the revaluated score looks better on my mark-sheet". But I couldn't believe I've topped in the country.

Said Gupta, "I'm grateful to my parents for supporting my decisions". "He has been very meticulous and focused in his preparation".

"We were in the same section and went to the same teacher for maths tuition".

Anokhi Mehta from Juhu's Jamnabai Narsee School got 99.2% and shares 2nd rank with another student.

While Antra secured the all-India second rank, she was closely followed by her schoolmates and NCR humanities toppers Sanjana Hira and Tanushree Pendharkar, both at 99%. Maithili Vartak, also from The Bishop's School, Camp, scored 97.75 per cent, while Mohit Mukherjee scored 96.25 per cent. Schools with 100 per cent result include Anand Niketan ( Satellite and Shilaj), Zydus School, Vejalpur, Lalji Mehrotra Lions School, SGVP International, JG International, New Tulip International (ICSE), and Madhav International (ICSE).

"It was my dream to top the national merit list, but I am more than glad to see it turn into a reality", said Abhijnan.

Books were the ISCE all-India topper's Bible. "I love history and want to later specialise in it, and so I chose the stream". What does the future hold? "But at the end of the day, I am happy that my efforts and my parents' support paid off", she said.

Studies were never Tansa's sole priority.

Priya was full of goosebumps after seeing her result.
