Flood Warning In Effect For Huron River In Hamburg

More than 1.75 inches of rain fell between 7 a.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday, according to the National Weather Service. If you are in the warned area, move to higher ground immediately. Streams and creeks could leave their banks, flooding nearby properties. A flood advisory continues through Thursday for the east branch of the DuPage River in Bolingbrook, affecting Will County.

Flood stage is 19.5 feet.

At 9 a.m. the stage was 13 feet and rising; flood stage is 12 feet, the weather service said in a statement.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm are expected after 2 p.m. Wednesday and again beginning Thursday afternoon.

A flood watch also was issued for the Fox River, which the Weather Service reports could affect Racine County.
