Diego Maradona hired as chairman of Belarusian club Dinamo Brest

This the second managerial spell for Maradona, the first came to an end last month with United Arab Emirates club Al Fujairah, when the club missed out on the direct promotion from the second division.

Diego Maradona has been appointed as chairman of Belarusian top-flight side Dinamo Brest. Fujairah clinched a place in the top flight earlier this week by coming through a play-off with Hatta.

Argentinian legend Diego Maradona has been named as the chairman of a football club in Belarus, according to reports.

"Diego Maradona will be engaged in issues of strategic development of the club, as well as interacting with all its structural units - including the children's academy".

Maradona posted a picture of him signing a contract on his official Instagram page, with the caption: "I signed the contract and I AM the president of Dinamo Brest".

Diego Maradona will get down to work after the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russian Federation.

Dinamo, based in the south-west of Belarus, are now in eighth position in the country's Premier League.
