Alabama, Texas Announce Home-And-Home, Longhorns Move Ohio State Series

The Texas football program announced a marquee home-and-home series with reigning national champion and SEC titan Alabama.

As for the Alabama-Texas all-time series, the teams first met in Tuscaloosa in 1902, followed by games in Austin in 1915 and '22. "This will certainly be a great opportunity for our program and our fans". Prior to Alabama's scheduled series with Texas and Notre Dame, the Tide had only participated in one during the Saban era, sweeping Penn State in 2010-11.

With Texas on its future schedule, Alabama is now scheduled to play nonconference opponents Louisville (2018), Duke (2019), Miami (2021) and Notre Dame (2028-29).

As if being left out of last season's College Football Playoff national championship weren't enough, Central Florida fans became the bridesmaid to Alabama again on Wednesday as the Knights' 2023 matchup with Texas was canceled so the Longhorns could make room for the Tide. Those adjustments are noted below. The Longhorns will host the Buckeyes on August 30, 2025 and travel to Columbus on September 5, 2026. The two were set to have a home-and-home in 2022-23, but that has now been moved back to 2025-26 to accommodate Alabama vs. Texas. That game has been canceled.
