That means temperatures will likely trend cooler as we trade the summer 80s for more spring-like 70s, perhaps a 60-something-degree day as well from Wednesday through Friday.

Thursday Night: A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Cloudy, with a low around 68. Chance of precipitation is 50 percent. Partly sunny, with a high near 88.

The map in question, displayed above, shows a widespread three inches of rain or more for multiple states, including a path along the eastern seaboard from Florida to the Carolinas, north into Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey where anywhere between 4 to 7 inches of rain is expected through May 21.
