Hue Jackson to jump into Lake Erie on June 1

Cleveland Browns coach Hue Jackson is making good on a promise he made before the season that backfired on him rather spectacularly. Well, we all know how that turned out. They didn't, instead losing one more game to become the second team in history to finish 0-16.

He announced Monday that he'll make good on his promise to jump in Lake Erie on June 1st for charity.

After all, a dip in a lake and a shot at another season of possibilities beats the fate of terminated GM Sashi Brown.

According to the organization's website, the jump is actually going to take place at a private location and only team employees will be in attendance, which seems to defeat at least part of the goal. The best part is that the coach will donate $100 to the Hue Jackson Foundation for every Browns employee joins him in the jump.

Despite going 1-31 in his two seasons, Jackson kept his job and now he's hoping his splashdown can symbolize a new beginning for the Browns.

And, while the Browns' future seems brighter now thanks to offseason acquisitions like Tyrod Taylor, Jarvis Landry and the drafting of Oklahoma quarterback Baker Mayfield, the only way for Jackson to truly rid himself of past failures is to take the plunge. I just think that is what you do.
