Gmail's desktop site now has a native offline mode

Get the new Gmail: In order for this to work you need to have switched over to the "new" Gmail. To put in simple words, Smart Compose is more like Smart Reply on steroids.

Last week during Google I/O developer conference, Google officially made offline mode available for Gmail users.

To try the new Gmail simply head to Settings in the top right of your inbox and select "Try the new Gmail". This functionality is rolling out to all Gmail users now, so be sure to keep an eye out for it.

Like with numerous new features announced last month that focus on increasing productivity, Nudges uses machine learning to provide quick reminders to follow-up or responses to email so that "nothing slips through the cracks".

Google has come up with yet another interesting feature known as smart replies or suggested replies. Start composing a new mail and the Smart Compose feature will start displaying suggestions automatically in a lighter text.

Smart Compose, announced earlier this week at Google I/O, is created to speed up writing everyday emails. This is another one of Google's fancy AI features.

In the first step, the user needs to enable the redesign which has been rolled out for Gmail. The Sync settings section allows you to decide whether to store emails from the last 7, 30 or 90 days along with the attachments.

Nudge identifies important emails in your inbox and tells you the number of days ago it was sent and asks if you want to reply, helping you stay productive.

Using artificial intelligence, unsubscribe suggestions appear based on cues like how many emails you get from a sender and how many of them you actually read.

Click the gear icon in the top-right. Hopefully it will eventually cut back on the amount of time you spend typing out mundane emails. The offline feature will work just like the Gmail mobile app with features to support search, write and even delete emails without WiFi or data connectivity.

The feature is available to all users who are on the latest versions of Chrome and Gmail. Next, scroll down a bit and check the box that says Experimental Access.

At the bottom of the page, click Save changes.
