Aston Martin launches new DB11

Aston Martin has lifted the silk on its new DB11 flagship, the AMR, which replaces the outgoing V12 Coupe and sports a significant power boost, refined interior and exterior styling.

Stylistically the AMR is differentiated from the standard DB11 by a number of exterior features that include dark headlight surrounds, front grille and tailpipes, smoked tail lamps, a gloss black roof, side sills and splitter along with a number of carbon fibre elements.

Helping achieve these figures, the range-topping grand-tourer has been treated to a new shift calibration for its eight-speed ZF torque-convertor automatic transmission, and a new exhaust set-up that enhances sound when Sport driving mode is engaged.

Aston says the DB11 AMR will cost from $428,000 before on-road costs locally, with deliveries beginning very soon - during Q2 2018.

In addition to the wide choice of standard colour and trim options, the DB11 AMR is available in three Designer Specifications, plus an exclusive AMR Signature Edition, which carries a striking Stirling Green and lime livery.

Aston Martin President & Chief Executive Officer, Dr Andy Palmer, said of the DB11 AMR: "Since its initial launch back in 2016 the DB11 range has matured rapidly and intelligently, selling close to 4,200 V12 examples in that period". With this increase in power, 0-100kmph time is reduced by 0.2 seconds to 3.7 seconds and top speed is now 337kmph. Apart from that, the exhaust note of the DB11 AMR is now louder for an imposing character of Aston's flagship. The same dark theme continues on the inside.

Two vents could also decorate the dome-y hood, while a handful of aero bits will be tasked with optimizing the air flow on and around the car's body. It also comes with Dark Knight leather upholstery and a mix of carbon fiber / satin dark chrome trim cabin trim.

Sporting credentials such as a flat-bottomed steering wheel, contrast colour brake callipers, dual exhausts and racing seats all feature in the vehicle. Limited to 100 units worldwide, the AMR Signature Edition is priced at £201,995 (RM1,093,097). Aston only intends to build 100 of these special models.
