Snapchat is rolling back some of its radical redesign changes

Just a few months after the last refresh, the Snapchat app is once again getting a facelift.

Subsequently, Snap acknowledged that the "new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many", with the latest update being an attempt to address numerous requested changes.

Snap began rolling out another round of design changes to most of its iPhone Snapchat users late Thursday, following widespread backlash to the app's redesign launched past year.

The redesign sees the company backtrack on some of the features that failed to resonate with users, including returning Snaps and Chats to chronological order and returning stories created by your friends into the right-hand tab. A separate "subscriptions" feed has been added to let users search through publishers', content creators' and news channels' Stories. At present, only 25% of United States consumers aged 18-34 say they've discussed Snapchat in the past two weeks. The company was expected to report more than 194 million users but fell short at 191 million.

The update with the Snapchat redesign was announced by Snap CEO Evan Spiegel in the company's first-quarter earnings call on May 1st.

The Snapchat app logo. We are now rolling out an update to address this by sorting communication by recency and moving Stories from friends to the right side of the application, while maintaining the structural changes we have made around separating friends from creators and sorting friends' Stories by relationships.

The redesign hit a nerve with a lot of users.

Spiegel added: "We are now rolling out an update to address this by sorting communication by recency and moving Stories from friends to the right side of the application, while maintaining the structural changes we have made around separating friends from creators and sorting friends' Stories by relationships".

However, that is finally changing- with users seeing the update come in today!
