White Sox pitcher suffered a brain hemorrhage during game

On Friday night, Chicago White Sox reliever Danny Farquhar lost consciousness in the dugout after pitching the sixth inning. During Friday night's game against the Houston Astros, he would faint in the dugout.

The Sox said on Saturday afternoon that he is in stable but critical condition in the neurological ICU.

The team says it will provide updates on Farquhar's health as appropriate, but requested privacy for the family.

"Again, the medical staff was like there right away the whole time and you know they called into the EMTs and somebody was already caring for him before they even got up". The 31-year-old Farquhar recorded the last two outs of the sixth when he fell ill.

Renteria said that Farquhar received nearly immediate attention from the medical staff after passing out.

Houston manager A.J. Hinch said some of his players saw Farquhar collapse.

"Then this morning getting that update, it's very scary", he said.

The White Sox put Farquhar on the 10-day disabled list.

Gregory Infante was recalled from AAA Charlotte to take Farquhar's spot on the roster, in the meantime.
