National Weather Service confirms EF-1 tornado in Decatur County

They are now working on a tornado survey for the EF-1 tornado that touched down near Diana Friday night, they have confirmed it as an EF-1 tornado, but have yet to release the details of their finding. They have also confirmed and EF-2 tornado in Louisiana in Bienville Parish with estimated winds of 115 miles per hour. A auto was flipped over in the parking area across the road near Wendy's.

The only Lowcountry county under a tornado watch until 11 p.m. was Williamsburg County.

Over the past hour, the National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Mecklenburg and the surrounding counties.

Potential for localized flash flooding, particularly along the coast during the times of high tide Monday morning into early afternoon.

"Tornados can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms", The National Weather Service said.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued. But that wasn't the only cell looking like it could spawn a tornado; additional storms along the line of showers in Stark County also indicated some rotation. They have confirmed 15 total tornadoes so far across the ArkLaTex.

Wind was also an issue and many areas are dealing with flooding in the storm's aftermath. A funnel cloud is only considered a tornado if it makes contact with the ground, no matter how close it is to touching.

The National Weather Service in Shreveport, LA has had a very busy few days. There have been no reports of tornado touch downs or damage.
