Comey claims Russians may have compromising information on Trump

Kellyanne Conway, counselor to President Trump, responds to former FBI Director James Comey's comments about President Trump in his new book and in interviews. But during an interview on Good Morning America, she contradicted Trump's official line by admitting that Comey swung the 2016 election in Donald Trump's favor when he announced the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails a few days before the vote. Stephanopoulos interviewed Comey on Sunday, in the former Federal Bureau of Investigation official's first major press appearance following his firing past year and ahead of his forthcoming book, A Higher Loyalty. Point I made on 3 shows is that we are supposed to believe THIS guy swung an election?

Last July, the Daily Beast reported that an internal memo in the Trump campaign admitted that the Comey announcement had impacted the election. The interview highlighted the April 17 release of Comey's book, A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership.

Remember, too, that when Trump first fired Comey in 2017, one of the White House's initial defenses of the firing was because of how Comey mishandled the Clinton investigation, though Trump himself would later admit the Russian Federation investigation played a role.

After James Comey was sacked as head of the Federal Bureau of Investigation last May, many wondered when and if the former director would speak out.

At the time of the October 2016 announcement, Trump repeatedly praised Comey's decision, saying he "did the right thing" by notifying Congress of the investigation's revival, which ultimately turned up no new evidence. "He has a very deft way of making things about him". "The president hardly knew the man".

Comey agreed with Stephanopoulos that the possibility that Trump has been compromised is "stunning", but he suggested that he views it as unlikely.

Kellyanne Conway slams Comey: "'This guy swung an election, '" she tweeted.

Comey just loves "being in the proximity of power", Conway shot back. "And now, at the end of your interview, George, he gave a free political commercial, telling people to go out and vote against the president and his interests".

"This is somebody who wants a pay day", McDaniel said of Comey.
