The prime minister said his government was working with new ideas for the development of 115 backward districts of the country as he asked each district to come up with its own model of development according to their available resources.

Modi will make a brief stopover in Berlin on his way back home on Friday and meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel to exchange views on several bilateral, regional and global issues, reports said.

Modi will attend the first ever India-Nordic Summit in Stockholm scheduled on Tuesday which is being co-hosted by India and Sweden. 'How do we get into areas where we can cooperate even more and develop new technologies, create jobs and sustainable solutions in a series of issues?' The European diplomat told the Firstpost portal.

After a meeting with industry captains, Modi will hold separate bilateral summits with the other Nordic countries. The National Indian Students and Alumni Union (NISAU) UK, together with 19 India-related societies at leading UK universities, submitted the letter dated April 14 ahead of the Indian PM's 4-day visit to the UK on Tuesday.

He inaugurated the first health centre under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme here. An Ayurveda Centre of Excellence will be launched in London.

The Prime Minister said he will be in London on 18th April.

"Around $1.4 billion have been invested in India by over 170 Swedish companies since 2000", Bhattacharjee said.

The PM will visit the United Kingdom from April 17-20 for a bilateral visit and to attend the CHOGM.

In what has been categorised as an "unprecedented" welcome, Modi will hold not just one but two meetings with his British counterpart Theresa May on Wednesday before they begin formal deliberations as part of the multilateral Commonwealth summit on Thursday. PM Modi's visit to Britain this time has been themed "Living bridge and tech partnership".

An estimated 2,000 people are expected to have received confirmations to attend the "niche event", since online registrations closed earlier this month.

India and Sweden will sign a general security agreement, which is a precondition for Sweden to share sensitive technology with India if, for instance, Swedish company Saab is chosen to build fighter jets in India. I had last visited the United Kingdom in November 2015.
