Around 4:30 p.m. crews were dispatched to the 1500 block of Fair Oaks Court for a report of a structure fire.

According to officials, crews were hampered by materials inside the home. The woman was eventually found safe and was away visiting with her adult daughter. He was taken to the hospital for smoke inhalation.

No injuries were reported and the Red Cross will assist the family with temporary shelter.

Officials said the victim was a smoker, but would not confirm that as the cause of the fire.
