Former Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt to interview with New York Knicks

Naturally, the move has been followed by much speculation on who exactly will take his place, and now Metta World Peace has announced in his interest in reuniting with the New York Knicks, this time in Hornaceck's shoes.

"I think in NY, it's better to have done this before".

The Knicks have been granted permission to talk with former NY head coach and current Clippers assistant Mike Woodson, reports ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Despite getting to an NBA Finals and compiling a 83-40 record, Blatt had a unusual stint in his two seasons in Cleveland because of a deteriorating relationship with LeBron James. I want them to want me. He had one year remaining on his contract.

The Knicks also plan to interview Jerry Stackhouse, Mark Jackson and possibly Jeff Van Gundy. "Somebody calls me and gives me the opportunity to talk, I'd be happy to talk". But that was my goal, man: to bring a championship to New York City.

Last year's drama-filled offseason created concern that Kristaps Porzingis' time in NY would end before it could even truly begin.

Here are five things the Knicks should look to accomplish this offseason in order to further accelerate their rebuild.

Porzingis was limited to 48 games this season, as a torn ACL cut his campaign short. The organization seemed comfortable with the idea of making that offer before Porzingis' injury.

Nobody would fault the front office for waiting until next summer, especially when that can create additional cap room for the 2019 free agency class. So whenever I see myself ready and whenever my team allows me to come back, I'll come back.

There is no timetable for Porzingis' return, but he is expected to be sidelined until at least December.
