Daryl Worley Charged With DUI, Disorderly Conduct After Arrest

The Eagles cut Worley on Sunday after confirming his arrest. His case is set for a preliminary hearing on May 1. He is alleged to have begun fighting with officers who woke him and police used a taser to subdue him, a source close to the situation said, confirming an NFL Network report.

He was traded to Philadelphia from the Carolina Panthers for wide receiver Torrey Smith. "We're going to look at it and hopefully resolve it favorably enough so that he can maintain his career".

Police said Worley was found passed out in a vehicle near Broad Street and Pattison Avenue around 6 a.m. Sunday. A gun was found at the scene.

Worley, a Philadelphia native and graduate of William Penn Charter High School, spoke at his introductory press conference on March 16 about returning home and playing for the team he grew up watching, and the responsibility that comes with that. Worley started 25 games in his two seasons with the Panthers.

The Eagles released Worley following his arrest.

While at West Virginia, Worley pleaded no contest to misdemeanor assault in 2014 after an incident at a nightclub.
